APPLICATION DIRECTIONS

TWO-STEP PROCESS
(Click here for printer friendly directions)

For best results, we highly recommended that before putting Nova Spa Water Conditioner in the spa water, that the existing contaminant build-up in the spa system be removed by using our Nova Spa PENETRATING SPA CLEANSER product.

STEP ONE

 Nova Spa PENETRATING SPA CLEANSER
Application Directions

1. Remove the spa filter cartridge from the filter housing and store in a safe place during the cleaning process. It is recommended that the filter also be cleaned with the Nova Spa PENETRATING SPA CLEANSER or replaced if necessary.

2. Use the existing spa water, if there is less than 5 ppm chlorine or bromine. If chlorine or bromine exists at 5 ppm or greater, drain spa and refill. Chlorine and bromine will kill the microbes and the cleanser will not work. (For best results I recommend using fresh cold water. HW)

3: Let water cool to 75F. or 23C. before pour in the full bottle of the Nova Spa PENETRATING SPA CLEANSER. If the spa is five or more years old, use two bottles. Temperatures above 75F. or 23C will kill microbes

4. Circulate the spa water with out the heat on for a minimum of 8 hours per day for two days. Close are jets to minimize foam. Clean the exposed tub service with the water.

5. After minimum of two days, drain the water, and flush the spa with fresh water. Refill the tub up to the top of the foot well area, then drain and clean the well. This will aid in completely flushing contaminants from your spa. Wash out the filter housing with clear water.

6. Clean both sides of the spa cover with soap and water. If the cover is cracked or torn, we recommend it be replaced. VERY IMPORTANT: If your spa cover has a zipper closure it is important to unzip the cover BUT DO NOT REMOVE THE COVER because it is difficult to put back on. Flush the inside of the cover with your garden hose. The inside of spa covers have been known to harbor mold and bacteria, all of which drip from condensation through the cover back into the spa water.

7. We recommend using baking soda or Nova Spa PENETRATING SPA CLEANSER for cleaning the spa tub and the spa filters. Do not use chemical filter cleaners or any household cleaners that have chemicals in them when you put water back in your spa, because the chemicals may react with the water and cause an odor or cloud the water in tub.

8. Do not use the spa during the contaminant cleaning process.

STEP TWO

Nova Spa Water Conditioner
Application Directions

1. Fill hot tub and add 16-ounce of Nova Spa Water Conditioner for each 500 gallons of spa water

2. After the water has reached the desired temperature(at least 90F), check the PH to ensure it is in the range of 8.0 to 8.4. Once pH is set Nova Spa Water Conditioner will maintain the PH at normal levels automatically. However, because water can be different in different areas, we recommend that first time users of Nova Spa Water Conditioner check the PH of the water for the first 2 weeks to make sure that it maintains the PH at the range of 8.0 to 8.4.

3. Clean the filter every week.We recommend rinsing the filter with hot water and soaking it in Nova Spa PENETRATING SPA CLEANSER and then rinse with water for a thorough cleaning. To ease cleaning have one filter in use while a second is soaking.

4. Add another bottle of Nova Spa Water Conditioner to the spa water every three months.

5. We recommend draining and replacing the spa water every 3 to 6 months.

Cleanse the Tub with Nova Spa PENETRATING SPA CLEANSER once a year minimum.
